Kate & Joel – St. Louis Engagement Photos

February 7, 2012

Kate & Joel’s St. Louis engagement session was on a very crummy morning! Cold-ish, rainy, gray. But sometimes, it’s a nice alternative to blue skies and green grass! We started in a parking garage in downtown St. Louis before heading over to the City Museum. However…my blog has upload the photos in the opposite order. So I’ll be telling this story backwards. Here we go…

Then we went to the City Museum where it was dry, warm and as crazy as ever! The City Museum produces some awesome engagement photos, this is for certain. But with or without a camera, the first 15 minutes of a visit to the City Museum are complete and total sensory overload. I want to crawl under a bench and cover my head. But there are no benches. And people do not pay me to crawl under them. So I power through…

Life ain’t worth living if you don’t pause for the silly…

hehe

We started our day in a kinda cold, pretty damp parking garage. One or more of the people involved in this photo shoot may have a tendency to make donations to casinos whenever possible. I may be one of those people. So this may have been a casino parking garage. May have been… Coulda been attached to an office building, who knows.

All I know for sure is the light was purty!

Zac was along for the shoot as he always is, hiding somewhere in the shadows and being generally kick ass second shooter. One thing I love about that is seeing how we hear the same thing, shoot in the exact same place and end up with totally different photos. (On a side note…sometimes Kate & I get to shoot together and the same thing happens and it rocks my socks then too!!) Anyway…I think the only request Kate & Joel made was for a few shots to include the arch…

Zac snagged this bad boy while I was getting the above shots. Love it big much!

Please notice the rain falling in these next few – love that!

Here’s one where I took a stab at including the arch…totally different right? So fun!

It was a dark and stormy silhouette… another from the hubs : )

Today I am thankful for negative space in awesome photos…

Thanks for playing Follow Maggie’s Blog! Come back soon for more photo fun and don’t forget to sign up for some fun of your own! We’re now booking portrait sessions for 2012!! I recommend booking about 3 months in advance. Sessions are available weekday evenings as well on select weekends. Check out www.maggiemedemaphoto.com for details.

Also…if you missed yesterday’s blog post about Special Needs Photography in the St. Louis Area please give it a read. It’s super important to both of us and we’re hell bent on it being a cornerstone of this business. So if you know someone blessed with a kiddo who has special needs, please pass the pie word!
