Vicky + Myrinda in Tower Grove Park – St. Louis Same-Sex Wedding Photography
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness…
That’s what’s always stuck out for me. The pursuit of happiness part. In a different life, could I be a happy as a not married person? Sure, I suspect I could. I suspect this isn’t for everyone. But in this life, in my own pursuit of happiness – in all the places I have pursued it and found it – no place has given me more happiness than my marriage. A place where I am both never alone and always completely alone – free to build our own rules, set our own expectations and speak our own language. Free to define our own sanctity and protect it in whatever way we see fit. It makes my heart happy to know, from this day forward (wink, wink), we are all free to choose this little place called marriage in our personal pursuits of happiness. Congratulations to all of the wonderful people who got the news they were hoping for today.

So I’ve had these photos prepped and ready to go for awhile… After the preview received such awesome love on our Facebook page, I couldn’t wait to share the full session here. But I’ve been sitting on it all week, hoping I’d get to share it as a celebratory high five. And I do (wink, wink). Man I am FULL of wedding jokes. But in all seriousness, enjoy these photos as a way to join in a very happy day, and join me in looking forward to this little corner of the interwebs featuring more same-sex wedding photography!
We met up with Vicky & Myrinda right before they celebrated their 8th anniversary and shot these photos throughout Tower Grove Park in St. Louis. The park is a great place for photos in general, but it was extra great in this case since they live in the neighborhood and frequent the park. You cannot beat taking photos in a place that is important to your every day life – it brings a whole different feel to the images.
Enjoy!
Updated to add… They’re engaged!!!
I didn’t even have to pull out my usual craziness to get them smiling and laughing together. They just do.
Below, mine on the left and Zac’s on the right. He wins! But also… that outtake of them cracking up over who-knows-what… that wins too!
So much beautiful tree goodness in Tower Grove Park!
I know, I used the color and black and white versions of the same photo a couple of times. Forgive me. It’s late June. I’m a wedding photographer. We’re all lucky I even know my name right now.
We capped it off with a little front porch sittin’. I LOVE front porch photos!!
A big thanks to Vicky and Myrinda for letting us capture your love!!
