Lindsey & Jake’s Engagement

January 19, 2011

Some more warm fall photos for a cold winter day. And some of my favorite engagement photos ever, too!!

As with some other recent posts, I’m repeating a few that were included in the Sneak Peak, just because its been a while since those went up!

I had lunch with some of my Streator friends Monday and we talked about being homesick and the things that make us miss home. For me, its these wild open fields. Which I’m sure I’ve droned on about before. But I can’t help it.

Want to hear something funny about being homesick? Sure you do. Around Thanksgiving time Zac spent an afternoon at a Streator bar with my Pa, havin lunch and beer. He texted me that afternoon and said, “I miss nicknames. I miss this bar. I miss Streator.” He told me later that he’d overheard the following conversation between the bartender and my father. At least I think it was my father, I don’t know, maybe he was listening to a stranger’s conversations. For the sake of the story, we’ll stick with it being my father and the bartender.

Bartender: “Butch is coming up.”

Father: “Butch? Or Butchie?”

Bartender: “Butch.”

Father: “Which Butch?”

Do you people realize how Streator that is??!!? Funny the things you notice, right? I know plenty of people here. I don’t know any of their nicknames and I’ve never met anyone named Butch here. Maybe they don’t even have nicknames here, who knows. Anyway. It’s an odd kind of thing that makes you realize you miss home.

How did we get here? Back to the photos.

Sunflare! Love!

Classic. Love also. And check the bling below!

I usually know within 15 minutes of shooting if I prefer someones smiling or serious face. Not that it matters what I prefer, but I usually know. With these two, I couldn’t decide!! They do both very well.

Heart. Reminds me of some kind of magical forest or something. It wasn’t. I know. I stepped in horse poop. Ain’t no horse poop in a magic forest.

Aren’t those last two pictures crazy? All that bright sunlight and those dark storm clouds. I hadn’t even noticed the clouds blow through so I was bit startled when we walked out of the magic horse-poop forest, but they ended up looking great!

Plus I think the photos are a neat representation of marriage…dark clouds roll through but yet there’s bright sunlight right behind them…and then they’re holding onto each other in the picture so it’s like they’re holding on to each other as the storm passes.

Sorry.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me.

I’ll go have a drink now.
