A Neeewwww Car!

March 15, 2009

My previously detailed bad day just got better.

The furnace is fixed and now starts and stops in appropriate fashion.

I went to the eye doctor and got new contacts as well as new glasses so that ripped contacts won’t be such a catastrophe.

And…we stopped by the car dealership and picked up this sexy lady:

Oooh yeah. We’re in love. She’s an 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a rocking two-tone leather interior, big honkin’ wheels, oodles of cargo room and off-road capabilities for all that off-roading we do. We totally lucked out to score such a great deal. When we were getting ready to car shop, we definitely didn’t think treats like heated seats and six-disk changers were in our immediate future! But, with the car industry in the state it’s in, car shopping isn’t quite what it was even just a few years ago.

Still hard to believe we have our own SUV…I keep peekin out the door to make sure she’s really ours! This is a great way to kick off camping season! We plan to load her up with all our camping gear and get to road tripping hopefully by mid-April. We have very serious plans to camp and fish the entire summer away. Usually, we are fall campers but since our fall calendar is kinda full, we’re making use of the spring and summer seasons. Missouri, Mississippi, Tennessee and Kentucky are all on our destination list! So exciting to have a reliable, roomy, sporty vehicle to make it happen!

The extra cargo room will also be a HUGE help in wedding travel. Aside from the dress and other necessary attire, we’ve got about 101 Rubbermaid totes that need to be transported from St. Louis to Galena. Now that doesn’t seem so unnerving! It also seems really cool to have our names on a car title together. That seems even more serious than seeing both of our names on the same checking account!

So here are some shots of our very first car together!!

This one is for my brother who was curious about the tires. Here they are. They are 17 inch. You could get us some sweet rims as a wedding gift. That would be better than a blender. Just a though.

I've always loved two-tone interior!
