A Soon-to-be Family: The Deckers

May 20, 2010

It’s finally time for an entire, full-length blog post dedicated to fawning over the beauty that is a pregnant belly.

Kyle and Megan are only a few short weeks from meeting their baby girl and with parents like these, she’s bound to be beautiful inside and out! And she’s going to have a beautiful name…

Calla. As in the lily. It’s brilliant, I love it!

It only takes a few seconds of being around these two to see how much they truly like each other. A lot of people love one another, and that’s all good and well, but its extra happy to see people who really like each other. That makes for a lucky baby!

In case you’re wondering…they’re laying on that chipped rubber tire stuff you find at playgrounds : )

And what’s a blog post with out Gladys. Gladys in tall grass. It’s my thing.

A few words about that tall grass…

I trespass a lot during photo sessions. It’s just a fact of life. I like tall grass and rustic barns and those are rarely found in a city park. If it ever results in my arrest, I’ll deal with it. On this particular occasion we were invading some farmer’s property. The tall grass was perfect, there were barns, what more could I ask for. So we made ourselves at home…even drug ole Gladys out into his field. After we’d been there a while a… er…mature gentlemen…wondered on up to us and said “I’m just a bit curious…”

He’s just a bit curious.

I’m balancing on a step ladder over top a pregnant woman who is laying in his grass and there’s a new arm chair casually placed near a ditch. Sir, I’d worry about your senses if you weren’t just a bit curious.

He didn’t chase us out. Or call the sheriff. And no conversations about whose uncle’s brother’s grandfather farms the neighboring land had to take place. That’s normally how I get myself out of these situations. We park the Jeep on someone else’s land, I scratch my head, Zac looks nervous and waits for the inevitable questions. “Who farms this?”

I was just about to tell the dear old farmer that the grandfather of the baby this woman was growing farmed the back 40 when he told us to have fun. And to please take our furniture with us when we go. Presumably I could leave the pregnant woman?

Anyway! Many congratulations to the Decker family! Thanks for letting us be a part of your journey!!
