Baby Face(s)

April 6, 2010

Warning: What you are about to see may result in unplanned pregnancy, kidnapping urges or a temptation to drive 3 hours on a weekly basis just to squeeze your cousin’s baby.

So yesterday I shared this:

Its so cute, so happy, that it actually causes pain.

When we went home to visit family for Easter I was crossing my fingers that tiny here would fit into the schedule because I haven’t seen him since Christmas (!!!) and he grows crazy fast and I feared that he would be driving by the time I saw him again.

Anyway, I was trying to come to terms with the fact that Jackie (you can read more about Jackie aka Giggle Box and baby Zac here) and I’s holidays schedules were too conflicting for any baby time.

Then she showed up at the door. And I scarfed down my mother’s lasagna in two bites and ran for my camera.

It would seem Giggle Box has spawned a Miniature Giggle Box (hereafter known as MGB). He giggles at everything. He smiles at everything. MGB is very easily entertained and did not protest to me making kissey faces at him, kissing his fat little cheeks Granda-Mary-style or kissing on his tiny little foots.

Basically I spent an hour either kissing the baby or photographing the baby. Thank goodness Giggle Box grew up in the same kiss-happy Italian family that I did, so she was not alarmed by all the baby kissing. Please note that if you hire me to photograph your baby, I will respect common social norms and not kiss your baby. But MGB is family. And he makes kissey faces back. So there.

I wanted to snap some good photos but it has been pouring and everything outside was soaked. All I wanted was what I always want…pretty sunlight! The only place it was to be found was inside my parents front door. Which allowed about 2 square feet of space if I really scrunched into a ball.

We plopped MGB down in front of the door…well more like up against it…his bum is super round and he tilts and tips easily. So we propped him up and I shot as rapidly as I possibly could, getting as many shots as possible before he toppled over. Fun game. But for a make shift photo shoot, the results are pretty adorable.

Let’s observe the many faces of MGB…

So many little expressions! Such a happy baby!

Now’s the perfect time to capture all of your happy baby’s expressions! Call or email to set up a session. There’s a few more spots in May and openings throughout the summer. I promise a more creative locale and backdrop than my parents’ front door! Unless you really like my parents’ front door…
