Beautiful People…

October 1, 2009

I’m telling ya. I ain’t never taken a picture of an ugly person. I don’t know what I’d title my blog post if I did. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there…

…anyway…

I’m supposed to be wedding planning, worry about wedding weather and my complexion or something else ridiculous like that but I can’t. Because I have loads of new photos just begging me to photoshop them to perfection and share them with you. I gave in just a little. Here’s the first few:

Brandi + Cody

Brandi is a Streator Girl. She met Cody while they were both attending the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!) and naturally Cody couldn’t resist her Streator girl charm so he had to marry her. Or at least that’s the way I tell the story. They’re planning a Vegas wedding for next August! And they came down to good ole StL for some engagement pictures. Unfortunatley it rained. A lot. There may or may not have been a hurricane. But we got the job done! Let’s begin by observing how great they look in jeans:

And now witness the serious strange weather. Bright sunshine. Scary clouds. Perfect rainbow.

I’d like to prove now that this was in fact a Streator girl photo session. Remember a few months back, when I photoed April the Streator Girl and her fiance Matt? And the wierdo man stole her purse, shoes and scarves from the parking lot and put them in the dumpster? See here. I told you then that the “I can’t believe that just happened” factor increases exponentially with the number of Streator girls present. Well at this shoot we had Brandi, myself and Kate who came along to second shoot with me. Three Streator girls present. High probabilty for weirdness. Observe:

Yup. We’d just directed Brandi and Cody into a cute pose with the rainbow in the background when this guy shows up. And does…well…that.

Honestly. Not the background we were going for. He went on to tell us that this was not the first but the second rainbow he’d seen that day. First in the West and now in the East! That’s the sort of thing you have to take a picture of, he told us. You wouldn’t want to miss it. Thanks, buddy. We hadn’t thought of that. Now if you’d kindly remove your remarkable rear end from my shot, that would be helpful.

Andrew Burns

Andrew was so so excited to have his senior portraits taken. No not really. That never happens with boys. But he was so so easy to work with! And I got to bounce all over their property and use their fields and farm equipment as backgrounds and I didn’t even have to trespass. Not even once. What a change that was! And it was a gorgeous day to be climbing around in bean fields and watching big green tractors harvest corn! By the time I left I could feel the fall season in my bones!! And the Burns family should be warned that I’m coming back and I’m bringing my fishing pole. Enough blabbing…meet Andrew:

There’s only one style of Burns: cute and blond. I’ll show you:

Told ya. That’s the only way they come.

I love taking pictures. Now I have to go stress over something really important like the color of the frosting on our wedding cupcakes.
