SIUE Engagement Photos – Lauren + Nolan
When talking with Lauren about location ideas for her and Nolan’s engagement session I mentioned the SIUE campus as a nice option and eventually we agreed that’s where we would shoot. I didn’t find out until later that we’d agreed to meet in the exact spot where they first met AND got engaged! How perfect is that?!
I always try to balance two ideas with our couples – the first being that the background doesn’t matter a whole heck of a lot. We aren’t taking landscape photos; we’re taking relationship photos. The second part of that though is that I love using locations that are significant to the couple, like SIUe was for Lauren and Nolan. My feeling is that while the relationship is what we are trying to capture, being in a place that feels like “you” makes you more relaxed and puts you in a happy, sentimental, lovey state of mind. I think we nailed that for Lauren & Nolan… See for yourself!
In the Quad at SIUe…
This is Specs. He is ridiculously awesome. Specs was rescued from a tough life on the streets and you can honestly tell that Specs knows he’s got it made now. He loves his people. And how hilarious is that cheeky little grin he’s giving on the left.
Let’s just take a break from Lauren & Nolan and spend some time loving on Specs, shall we?
Okay back to the paying customers…
After we played around on the main campus a bit we made a stop at The Gardens for some lovey dovey goodness in the sunset light.
