The Lawless Family ~ Edwardsville Family Photography

October 29, 2012

Allow me to share a brief story with you before I share these photos.

We’ll start with an analogy…

October is to Photographers as April is to Accountants.

That is say, it is 9 p.m. and I have not had dinner. This has become normal. Because it is “that time of year.” I’m not complaining. I happen to love “that time of year.” I love it and I am thankful for it, because it pays the bills “the rest of the year.”

Anyway. This is all to say that when things get to shaking as fast as they are right now, folks don’t exactly get sneak peaks of their photos in an ultra fast manner like they might in say July. I know this is torture for people. I’ve been on the waiting end, I get it.

But we have rules around here. Rules to keep things in line.

One of those rules is that we process photos in the order in which they are taken. So if your wedding was many weeks ago (Hey Katie! Hey Afton! Coming soon…I swear!) you’re getting some love and attention before the folks I photo’ed yesterday.

We have wonderful clients and they are always wonderfully understanding of this process and very patient with us. We are endlessly appreciative of that.

But today, it would appear, one of my clients got clever.

Never, did this lovely lady send me a harassing email or facebook message wanting to know where in the hell her preview was. Oh no. She got straight to business.

She sold my dad a new car.

She cut my mom a good deal on it.

People, do you know my dad? Do you know my mom? If there is anything they each, respectively, love more than me, it is a new car and a good deal. So naturally, I’m happy for them.

Then I get an email from my mom…

“You know…Brenda really got us a nice deal on that beautiful new car of your dad’s…maybe you could show her a little preview of her photos.”

To which I replied, ‘That ain’t how it works momma.”

And then I thought…why the hell not?! That’s a great way for it to work.

So in the future if you wish to see your photos processed on a rush schedule, you’ll just want to see to it that my parents are well taken care of. In addition to cars my dad enjoys Bud Light, rounds of golf and the occasional baseball ticket. My mom is fond of purses and flowers.

Without further ado, Brenda….your cleverly acquired advanced preview:

Do you  love this family yet?! I love them! I smiled the entire time I was preparing these!!

Two shots for this cutie-pie couple because I have a crush on the photo on the right. But I figured it wasn’t fair to only show you a photo of them in which their faces are replaced with dreamy sunflare…

Look, more dreamy sunflare!! I really love this next one – don’t you wish you had a photo with your own grandparents just. like. this. Lucky babies!!!  And just for good measure – I give you – pure autumn joy:

Disclaimer: I’m kidding.
