The Vickers Family: Part 1

June 20, 2010

I’ll begin this post by publicly thanking the Vicker’s family for their patience! Between my computer system dying a slow death and me being under the weather this past week, they’ve waited a big longer than usual to see any of these photos and they haven’t sent me a single nasty email (yet). For that I am very, very thankful!

I’m splitting this post in to two parts because this is a HUGE family and there are TONS of pictures! So I’m grouping them – tonight we’ll start with the photos of the entire group or larger groups. Then in the next few days I’ll share the pics of the individual family groups, random shots of these adorable kids and a few of the many combinations of people we came up with!

We shot these at Marilla Park in Streator, since I’m not aware of any other locations that can accomodate 10 adults, 5 children, 4 dogs and 1 bright orange chair!

Let’s hear it for color! Brilliant job with outfit selections!

See those wooden stools? I stole them out of my father-in-laws house at the crack of dawn while everyone was still asleep. They were very, very confused. We met them for lunch after the shoot and I casually said “I have you kitchen stools in the back of my Jeep.” Insert blanks stares here. Ha! I think they thought they’d been robbed by very selective thieves.

The grandparents and all of their grandbabies!
I love kids – every expression and/or distracted look in this photo is priceless!

I know these blog photos are only so big, but lean in and check out the t-shirts. They say “The Ass Family” as in Jack Ass, Smart Ass, Dumb Ass, etc. I’m sure there could be a lengthy debate about whose who in any family! But it cracked me up when they surprised everyone with these shirts – I love a family with a sense of humor!! Then again, how could you have a family this large and no sense of humor, right?

This next one doesn’t really belong in this group, but its one of my favorites from the entire day so I’m sharing now!

Stay tuned, more to come!!
